Spode Sunflower - Blue Room
Spode's Sunflower pattern, also known as Convolvulus, is a classic design that dates from 1812 and is an all-over sheet pattern. Both the sunflower and the convolvulus (or morning glory) are featured flowers. The intricate design of Sunflower design was mainly used on earthenware and applied in an underglaze blue. The pattern was part of Spode's Blueroom Collection through the 1990s and was retired in 2000.
Then in 2020 Spode looked through its extensive pattern archive and brought back Sunflowers, under the name Blueroom Sunflowers, as part of the 250th anniversary of Spode. This 2020 edition is Made in Stoke-on-Trent only 500m from the original Spode site. Spode Blue Room Sunflower is a classic blue and white earthenware collection and it is great to see it back in production.
