T G Green Pottery
T.G.Green & Co started producing pottery in the village of Church Gresley, South Derbyshire in 1864. Between 1864 and 2007 T G Green produced everything from utilitarian wartime pottery to colourful art deco designs, though it is the blue and white Cornishware introduced in the 1920s that they are most famous for; at their peak T G Green employed around 1000 staff at the Church Gresley works.
The story looked to be over in 2007 when production stopped, and although the old South Derbyshire works are never likely to see production again, the T G Green and Cornishware names have been saved and UK production started again in 2017 at a new site in the South West.
