British Home Stores was founded in 1928. The department store expanded from Brixton, London, to become a nationwide chain. Sadly no longer on our high streets, BHS is another retailer which we all have found memories of, from their great lighting department, clothing, gifts and tableware.
At their peak BHS worked with some of the great British tableware brands and designers including Jeff Banks to create own label casual tableware ranges. As a result the design and quality of these ranges is excellent and many of them were made in Great Britain including the popular Bristol Blue and Lincoln collections.
