Poole Pottery

Poole Pottery

Originally founded in 1873, the distinct Poole designs is what makes the brand so unique. By the end of the first world war, they had already produced a wide range of decorative wares under the head of design - James Radley Young. It was during the Carter, Stabler, and Adams period that the most memorable Poole wares were produced. The red earthenwares were covered in a white slip, dipped into a semi-matt clear glaze before decoration in a variety of floral and geometric patterns.

Poole first showcased their contemporary pieces in London in 1953. They were heavily influenced by Scandinavian designs and worked with incredible designers and producers to achieve just this. Following this, their reputation increased and their pieces had become very popular.
