- Pattern Description
Canterbury was marketed by Denby in the mid-1960s under the name of Langley a ‘natural homemaker’ series, and was based on one set of shapes. ‘Mayflower’ also in the ‘natural homemaker’ series featured teapots, jugs and bowls with conventional handles instead of the single bar used for Canterbury and other ‘natural homemaker’ series collections. The formalised pattern of flowers, buds and leaves in browns and gold’s covered the plate and was likened in an advertisement of the day to ‘the colour warm sunlight on a sandstone wall’.
