When you handle china every day, as we do here at Chinasearch, you get to know a thing or two about the best and most practical way to pack and protect it before sending it on its way.

There is definitely an art to packing china – and we know the materials and methods that will result in customer delight as a parcel from Chinasearch is opened to reveal a perfect piece.

Some of the items we despatch to customers are much coveted and sought after, particular pre-loved items from our replacement china collections. It’s quite possible that we’ll have spent many months tracking down a piece, so the onus is firmly on us to take the time needed and package it carefully before its onward journey from our Warwickshire location into the hands, and onto the dining tables, of our customers.

And we’re just as passionate about good packaging when customers are selling to us. We’ve used our significant experience across more than 40 years to create a set of easy-to-follow packaging instructions that we share with our customers to help them protect their beautiful china. We provide tips on do’s and don’ts along with advice on the most suitable materials… simply put, lots and lots of scrunched-up newspaper! It’s not just a great shock absorber but quick and easy to recycle, too. Often, the materials people would naturally opt for, such as polystyrene chips or bubble wrap, just won’t provide the support or resist movement in the way newspaper will. As long as customers follow our packing instructions we will receive their dinner sets in the condition in which they were sent.

Packing China and Crockery

We’re proud of the wonderful reviews we regularly receive from customers thrilled at opening their boxes to see that their new china has arrived safe and sound. And we’re equally pleased, and grateful, to open a delivery of pre-loved china being sold to us from a customer and to see how closely and carefully they’ve followed our guidelines.

China is fragile – it deserves time, care and attention to ensure its beauty is retained for years to come.
