- About Contrast
Introduced in 1974, Contrast won Hornsea and designer Martin Hunt a Design Council Award. Through advancements in firing Hornsea was able to produce a fully vitrified and highly durable ceramic. This technical advancement was matched by Martin Hunt's Art Nouveau influenced forms that play in Contrast to the matt brown clay body.
For nearly a decade, Contrast was Hornsea Pottery's best-selling collection.
