- About Troubadour
First introduced in 1971, Denby Troubadour enjoyed a 13-year lifespan before retiring in 1984.
A subtle and elegant development from the Gypsy range, sharing its soft forms but presenting a more minimalist, painterly aesthetic. The decoration features hand-painted magnolia blossoms and foliage in gentle tones of green, soft brown, and touches of pink, giving the range a calm and sophisticated look.
Designed during a time when financial considerations often constrained artistic ambitions, Troubadour stands out as a design that retained its artistic integrity while remaining commercially viable. With its simple lines and muted palette, Troubadour is widely regarded as a quiet masterpiece of Denby’s early 1980s production.
