- About Mayflower
Produced by Langley and Denby Pottery, the Mayflower collection became part of the Natural Homemaker series.
First produced in 1964, Denby Mayflower was crafted with a warm, homespun charm and specially created for the American market. It quickly found popularity in the UK throughout the 1960s and inspired a wave of stylised floral designs that followed. Designed entirely by Gill Pemberton, Mayflower is instantly recognisable by its dark-brown ribbed coffee pots and jugs, featuring distinctive projecting side handles. The plates are adorned with an upright spray of three stylised flowers in rich tones of yellow, gold, and brown — originally hand-painted onto the raw glaze in early prototypes, but later applied over the fired glaze for production.
