Highlights from Tableware International’s Awards of Excellence

Last month, the tableware industry embraced the opportunity to showcase and celebrate the quality, creativity, flair, and resourcefulness of its designers and manufacturers, thanks to Tableware International hosting its Awards of Excellence.

Tableware International was delighted to host in-person awards for the first time in three years and received more than 200 entries from diverse companies across 13 categories, including those for dinnerware, coffee/teaware, serveware and glassware.

Here are our highlights: three impressive collections that all topped their categories as finalists – and one came out as winner! Sit back and enjoy… they couldn’t be more different.

Decorative Category Winner – Vista Alegre Futurismo

A winner of many awards, Vista Alegre Futurismo stands out for its bold colours, contrasting hues and multitude of geometric shapes, creating a pattern inspired by a contemporary view of Futurism – the artistic movement that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century. The individually styled pieces reimagine modernism for the modern era, expressing a strong personality at every turn.

Casual Dinnerware Category Finalist – Denby Kiln

A 2022 launch much admired here at Chinasearch for its artisan craftsmanship and timeless ease is Denby Kiln. The collection’s contemporary new shapes and soft colourways of chalky white, oatmeal and grey make it exceptionally practical and easy to live with – spot on for casual dinnerware. Kiln has a wonderful tactile feel that exudes quality and showcases the expertise of the artisans who craft each piece. It’s a special pattern with an interesting story to tell and is easy to mix with your existing collections, which we capture here in one of our blogs.

Casual Glassware Category Finalist – Kew Gardens Living Jewels Glassware

The Living Jewels recycled glassware collection is inspired by the historical archives of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and features tumblers, stem wine glasses and a carafe. Each piece of glassware plays into the strength of the natural green tint achieved with recycled glass manufacturing, with aesthetics beautifully reflecting the stunning gardens themselves, in particular representing the colour palette of Kew’s famous Palm House. The stackable nature of this glassware only makes it more desirable.
