First produced in 1966, Sherwood was marketed by Denby in the mid-1960s under the name of Langley a ‘natural homemaker’ series, and was based on one set of shapes. ‘Mayflower’ also in the ‘natural homemaker’ series featured teapots, jugs and bowls with conventional handles instead of the single bar used for Sherwood and other ‘natural homemaker’ series collections. Glazed in dark-olive green, rust, ivory and blue flowers were freely painted onto the light stone-coloured plates.
