Masons Ironstone

It is now more than two centuries since Mason's Ironstone was founded. Charles James Mason's Patent Ironstone China', as it was named from 1813, was developed as a less expensive alternative to imported Chinese porcelain, the exclusive preserve of the well-to-do.

From the very earliest days, patterns were of Oriental inspiration to rival the prestigious imported ware. This eastern magic, combined with distinctive shapes and superb quality, still makes Mason's Ironstone instantly identifiable and highly collectable... although most lovers of Mason's would, of course, mention its sheer beauty.
