Bluebird is a whimsical nineteenth century pattern originally called Chinese Peacock, it was inspired by the old oriental fable of the birds congress to elect a king. Perfection in colour, decoration and form, this delightful pattern started production by Burgess & Leigh circa: 1851 and was at the height of its popularity in the 1890’s. It was still current by Burleigh in 2006.
