  • Pattern Description
A strong selling Adam’s Calyx Ware pattern, #2087, (GX2087 under Wedgwood) dating from 1928 and at first unnamed was supplied to her Royal Highness the Princess Royal in the 1930s. Sometime between 1939 and 1945 the factory began using the pattern name ‘The Rose’ but by 1966, it was listed in sales catalogues as #2087 Lowestoft. Hand painted until the Wedgwood takeover in 1966 it remained in production until at least early 1984.

Lowestoft features a pink pattern border, six flower designs encompassing the large floral display, enamelled in green, yellow and purple and was finished with a yellow trim. The brand name leader for Adam’s Calyx Ware at the time, however the entire Calyx Ware range suffered from Britain’s cleaner air requirement and production of the pattern ceased.
