  • Product Details
Lancaster Vegetable Tureen Lid Only by Adams.
    • Made in England
  • Pattern Description
Lancaster pattern #3075 began in 1969 and became Adam’s last hand painted porcelain design. The design was based on nineteenth century ‘Adams Rose’ (produced from 1829 to 1861.) The pieces feature red flowers and green leaves with blue lines on the inner rim and followed through to the outer rim.

When Adam’s was rationalised in April 1987, only three best selling patterns survived including Lancaster. By 1994 Lancaster was being marketed under a Wedgwood banner, part of the Adam’s collection. This remaining Adam’s pattern was on Johnson Brother’s bodies and was decorated by Masons. By 1997, only Lancaster survived in open stock, the lone reminder of the Adam’s legacy. It was carried in open stock until 1998.

Lancaster was marketed in Reversal of Fortune, the film drama of 1990 about the notorious Claus Von Burlow case starring Jeremy Irons, which utilises Lancaster as the service for the spaghetti dinner scene for the legal staff.
