Chelsea Sprays Blue has a Calyx Ware body with a central floral display of a rose and three single flowers and six single flowers scattered around the edge. Featuring a blue fleur-de-lis band and yellow trim this pattern is romantic whilst also being practical. Adams & Sons was purchased by Wedgwood on 1st January 1966 and maintained such Calyx Ware patterns as ‘Chelsea Sprays.’ However the entire Calyx Ware ranges suffered from Britain’s cleaner air requirement and Chelsea Sprays ceased to be produced after 1972.
